What we collect

• Account info: Petport works without signing in: it creates a private guest account (a random identifier, no name or email) on first use. If you choose to connect an account, we receive the email address, or the Apple / Google identifier, you connect.
• Pet records: name, species, breed, date of birth, microchip number, owner-supplied notes.
• Trip details: origin, destination, airline, departure date, generated checklist progress.
• Documents: photos of vaccine cards, health certificates, and microchip records you choose to upload, plus the OCR text extracted from them.

What we don't collect

• We do not collect or sell advertising identifiers.
• We do not track you across other apps.
• We do not access your contacts or location.

How the checklist is generated

The first time you build a checklist, the app asks for your permission. When you allow it, and each time you build a checklist, our server sends your trip (route, airline, departure date) and your pet's details (species, breed, date of birth, microchip number) to Anthropic's Claude API, together with the matching regulation rules from our database. Your name, email address and photos are not sent. The server prints each rule and calculates each deadline itself; Claude only flags the rules that need your attention for this pet. Claude does not invent regulations. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf, may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days, and does not use them to train its models. You can withdraw your permission in Settings; the checklist feature then asks again before sending anything. Checklist requests are limited per account and per network to prevent abuse; we keep only counts for this (dates, numbers and a salted one-way hash of the network address, never message text or pet details).

Document OCR

Photos you upload are scanned on-device using Apple's Vision framework to extract text and dates. The extracted text is stored alongside the document so we can flag expirations. The original image is stored privately on Supabase Storage with row-level security tied to your account.

Where your data lives

Pet records, trips, documents, and checklists are stored on Supabase (our backend host). Only the account (guest or connected) that created them can read them — enforced by row-level security. A guest account lives on this device's sign-in session: if you delete the app or sign out of a connected account, a guest's records can no longer be reached, so connect an account if you want to keep them.

Third-party services we use

• Supabase — database, authentication, and document storage.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — flags, for each trip, the rules that need attention for your pet (see above). Does not use this data to train its models; may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days.
• RevenueCat — manages your subscription status. Receives a random user identifier (the same identifier as your guest or connected account) and your subscription state. No pet or document data is shared with RevenueCat.
• Apple and Google — only if you choose to connect or sign in with Apple or Google. We receive an authentication token and (if you allow it) your email.

Important — informational tool only

Petport is an informational tool to help you keep track of pet travel requirements. It is not legal or veterinary advice. Always confirm requirements with your airline and a licensed veterinarian within 24 hours of departure.

How long we keep your data

Your pets, trips, documents, and checklists are kept until you delete them. Deleting your data from Settings (Delete account, or Delete my data for a guest) removes your Petport records, document photos and profile immediately. Counts used for fair-use limits are described under Account deletion.

Account deletion

Delete from Settings → Delete account (guests: Delete my data), or see how to delete your account and data. This permanently removes your pets, trips, checklists, documents (including the stored photos) and profile. OOTSSU apps share one sign-in service: your sign-in record (email, Apple/Google or guest identifier) is removed too unless you use the same sign-in in another OOTSSU app, in which case it is kept for that app and no Petport data remains linked to it. We keep counts of checklist requests (no content) so that deleting and starting over cannot reset the free allowance: daily counts are deleted after 35 days, network-hash counts after 7 days, and a free account's lifetime counter (a number only) stays. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are kept for billing and tax and are not deleted by this; deleting does not cancel a subscription.

Children

Petport is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
